The Others to Release Debut

After gaining the attention of the British music press, London quartet The Others are preparing to release their debut album early next year. The self-titled record is set to hit stores in the United Kingdom on January 31st, 2005, and like many other quintessentially British albums, will only be available on import in North America for an indefinite amount of time.

'The Others' features12 tracks of the band's gritty rock music, including all of the band's singles. So far The Others have released two singles, with another called 'Lackey' to be released on January 17th. The band's debut single goes by the name of 'This Is for the Poor', and its follow-up is called 'Stan Bowles', which is dedicated to The Libertines' Pete Doherty.

The track-listing of The Others' eponymous debut:

'Southern Glow'
'In the Background'
'Stan Bowles'
'How I Nearly Lost You'
'This Is for the Poor'
'Community 853'
'Darren, Daniel, Dave'

This past year saw a scene develop in London, England where bands put on spontaneous shows in sometimes strange locations. These performances became known as 'guerrilla gigs' and The Others can be counted among those acts that get their kicks out of unannounced gigs. Although they are known for their guerrilla gigs, The Others have a 12-date UK tour lined-up for January in support of their new album.
