Chad VanGaalen Tours, Re-Releases Debut

Published: 2004-12-14
Bedroom singer/songwriter Chad VanGaalen is has two dates scheduled for December, and they're on opposite sides of the country. The singer will first hit the eastern half of Canada, playing in Toronto, Ontario on Sunday, December 19th. He will then trek back towards his home base of Calgary, playing in Edmonton, Alberta just two days before Christmas on December 23rd.

VanGaalen is out playing in support of his first proper album 'Infiniheart', which was released in the very beginning of 2004 through Catch & Release/Flemish Eye records. Since then the singer/songwriter has been pulling in major accolades from all around the continent (he even placed 9th on Exclaim Magazine's top Pop Albums of the Year, one spot above Franz Ferdinand).

Although such great things are being said about VanGaalen, it can be incredibly hard to get your hands on a copy of 'Infiniheart' due to its limited release. Good news for indie fans though, as the 19-track record is slated for re-release in Spring 2005. Not only will more copies of 'Infiniheart' become available, but VanGaalen is also set to release an all new 6-song EP as well.

His debut album just appeared recently, but VanGaalen has been writing and performing music for a very long time. Over the course of a decade he recorded and produced hundreds of songs in his bedroom, playing all of the instruments himself. VanGaalen culled his back catalogue for 'Infiniheart', as well as recorded three new songs to be included.

At the Flemish Eye Records site it's possible to download two of VanGaalen's tracks for free: 'Clinicly Dead' and 'Traffic'. Go to, where you can also order 'Infiniheart' if you're so inclined.

Chad VanGaalen's upcoming dates:

December 19 Toronto, ON - Wavelength @ Sneaky Dee's
December 23 Edmonton, AB - The Sidetrack
