Andy Stochansky's Five Star Motel

Published: 2003-12-22
Toronto's Andy Stochansky teamed up with Goo Goo Dolls frontman Johnny Rzeznik for his latest album. The as yet un-named CD will be released in April or May. It is the follow up to the 2002 release "Five Star Motel". The new album is Stochansky's fourth overall release but his second with Rivate Music/ Arista.

Stochansky wrote all of the material for the new CD. He credits Rzeznik with co-writing one piece, but Rzeznik said that he only helped a little bit. Stochansky was Ani DiFranco's drummer for seven years and is a multi-instrumentalist but he did not play on the new CD; he only sang. Rzeznik brought in session musicians to do the instrument tracks. Goo Goo Dolls drummer Mike Malinin and Rzeznik himself on guitar also appear on the new CD.
