Metric Show Southern Ontario Some Love

Published: 2004-12-13
In the past two years, they've criss-crossed North America more times than is worth counting, and Metric's never-ending tour will continue into the New Year. So far the quartet has four dates lined-up for January, all taking place in the Canadian province known as Ontario. Their first show of 2005 is scheduled to be on January 21st in Toronto, and their last scheduled at the moment is for January 28th in London, Ontario.

For those that can't wait until January for their Metric fix can catch lead singer Emily Haines solo this month. After she and her Broken Social Scene counterparts storm New York City when they open for The Pixies, Haines will return to Toronto to perform at the Church of the Redeemer on December 17th.

Metric's North American fan-base grows exponentially with each passing moment and with the impending release of 'Old World Underground, Where Are You Now?' in Britain, it's sure to balloon worldwide. Besides playing the southern Ontario dates this January, the members of Metric are planning to take up residence in the recording studio for most of the month. The fruits of that labour will become the band's second full-length album.

Metric's upcoming gigs:

December 17 Toronto, ON - Church of the Redeemer (Emily Haines solo)
January 21 Toronto, ON - MOD Club
January 26 Ottawa, ON - Babylon
January 27 Kingston, ON - Elixir
January 28 London, ON - Call The Office
