Slipknot, Lamb Of God, Shadows Fall Tour

Three of the most hard-hitting bands in metal will be teaming up for a tour in 2005. Slipknot, fresh off a Grammy nomination for Best Hard Rock and Metal Performance, will be touring behind their latest release, Vol. 3 (The Subliminal Verses), and will have Lamb Of God and Shadows Fall in tow.

Slipknot are known for their out-of-control live antics. The sheer spectacle of nine men in matching jumpsuits and horror/bondage masks running amok across a giant stage strewn with pyrotechnics, two elevating steel drum sets, and a rising and inverting drum set complete with a giant pentagram underneath highlight Slipknot's live performance on their DVD release, 'Disasterpieces'. Slipknot fans, affectionately referred to by the band as maggots, will expect nothing less this time around.

Lamb of God's debut CD was named Album of the Year in magazines such as Revolver and Metal Hammer. They repeated their success with their second release which debuted at number 27 on the billboard charts. Frontman Randy Blythe offered his thoughts on the upcoming tour:

"Dear Lord, what a mess. Thousands of screaming freaks, beer and God knows what else flying everywhere, large metal objects being smashed together, innocent bystanders weeping in confusion, over the general mayhem. Oh wait, that's just the party in the parking lot before the show starts. Come inside and the real fun will begin. Have your mama pack you a lunch, 'cause it's gonna be a long, hard night."

The new Shadows Fall album, 'The War Within', also enjoyed billboard success, debuting at number 20. The band was also named a Band To Watch In 2005 by Spin Magazine. Vocalist Brian Fair expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming tour:

"We're totally excited about our next U.S. tour where we once again will be playing with bands that we are not only friends with but also fans of. We've been friends with the guys in Slipknot for a while but have not had the chance to tour with them and we look forward to this opportunity. There should be lots of crazy tour stories to add to our growing list."

Slipknot comes to Canada in January before heading down under to Australia and New Zealand. The U.S. tour begins March 4th.
