Razorlight Plan Return To Canada

Published: 2004-12-01
Garage-rock band Razorlight recently visited the Canadian cities of Montreal and Toronto when they opened for Jimmy Eat World in early November. Apparently they liked the place so much they've already decided to head back. The Scando-Brit rockers will make a return to both Toronto and Montreal in the New Year. So far Razorlight has just three North American stops lined-up for 2005; their other performance will take place in Los Angeles, California.

Although their debut album 'Up All Night' has been out in the United Kingdom since June 2004, the 12-track record just found its way into North American homes. Here in Canada, 'Up All Night' was put on shelves on October 26th through Universal records. So far one single has been released on this side of the Atlantic, and that song is called 'Golden Touch'.

The one thing that most people know about Razorlight is that boisterous frontman Johnny Borrell was once a part of The Libertines. While he had residence in the band for all of three seconds, it turned out to be a great platform for Borrell to yell from. He proceeded to tell anyone who would listen that his music and lyrics were better than The Libertines' (in the most loving way possible) and since then Razorlight has rocketed to the top of the charts, and mined their way into the British psyche.

Razorlight's upcoming Canadian gigs:

January 11 Montreal, QC - Cabaret
January 12 Toronto, ON - Lee's Palace
