Matthew Dear Spins Across The Continent

Published: 2004-11-30
This December Texas-born Detroit-based electronica artist Matthew Dear will head out on tour across the continent of North America. Relatively new to the music scene, Dear has risen quickly in the house world, and has the touring schedule to prove it. The DJ is set to hit 16 different cities in just 18 days, in support of his latest release 'Backstroke'.

Hailed as one of America's best new DJs and known for his amazing live sets, Dear will kick off his tour on December 1st in New York City, finishing off on December 18th in Washington, DC. Included on the artist's tour are four Canadian performances, with both sides of the country getting two stops each.

When the 8-track 'Backstroke' hit record store shelves in July 2004, it marked the release of Dear's second full-length album in as many years. Matthew Dear's very first long player 'Leave Luck To Heaven' was released in late 2003, featuring 12 tracks from the techno artist. Not only has Dear released two LPs, but he's also put out an impressive amount of EPs in the past two years, bringing his total discography up to 5 records.

Not only does Dear release records under his birth name, but he's also released a slew of material under a variety of different alias. To check out a few clips of Dear's work off of his various releases, go to
