Controller.Controller Slow Down

Published: 2004-11-29
After a whirlwind year of touring Contoller.Controller are starting to slowdown their gears, and will eventually wind down to a stop. Once the tour bus wheels stop rolling the Toronto quartet plans to get down to work on their next record. However, Controller.Controller hasn't left the road behind just yet; the funk-punk band has five December dates in its future. Four of the performances are set for Ontario, with one happening in New York, New York.

Those Torontonians who haven't an idea what they're going to do this New Year's might want to consider ringing in 2005 with Controller.Controller. The five-piece is playing the El Mocambo on December 31st as part of the Ukula.com New Year's Eve Party.

Frontwoman Nirmala Basnayake and Co. are continuing to perform in support of their debut album. Called 'History', the 7-track record hit shelves in February 2004, and has garnered quite a few great reviews since then. Formed in 2002, Controller.Controller gained notoriety for their live performances before they were even signed to a label. But all things come to an end, and the quartet's label-less days were over when they signed with Paper Bag Records, making labelmates out of Matthew Barber and Stars.

Controller.Controller's upcoming gigs:

December 10 Kingston, ON - Grad Club
December 17 London, ON - Call The Office
December 18 Hamilton, ON - The Underground
December 31 Toronto, ON - El Mocambo
