Third Doves Album On Its Way

Published: 2004-11-26
The third album from atmospheric rock band Doves is due to be spinning in CD players (and/or mp3 players) around the world early next year. The Manchester trio has been in the recording studio for the better part of the year laying down tracks for what would become 'Some Cities'. It looks as if the album will hit North American shelves on February 15th, 2005.

At the band's official website, which is www.doves.net, it's possible to watch some short video clips of the trio as they recorded 'Some Cities'.

In other Doves news, the band is preparing to take the stage for the first time in over a year. All three pre-Christmas gigs are happening in the UK, and their December 15th London gig has already completely sold out. Not only will Doves play favourites from their previous albums, but are also planning to debut material from 'Some Cities'.

After they broke up as Sub Sub and reformed as Doves in the year of 1998, twin brothers Jez and Andy Williams and vocalist Jimi Goodwin released the 'Cedar' EP, which helped to put the band in the hype spotlight. The band's debut full-length album 'Lost Souls' finally appeared in 2000, which housed 12 tracks that showcased the band's rich, melodic soundscapes. The most recent offering from Doves is the 2002 album 'The Last Broadcast', on which hit songs like 'Pounding' and 'There Goes The Fear' make their home.
