Rilo Kiley Singer Goes Solo

Published: 2004-11-25
Jenny Lewis, frontwoman for indie darlings Rilo Kiley, has launched a solo project. Fans of the band can rest easy; the band will remain in tact. Lewis will release her solo debut next year, which remains untitled as of yet, through Team Love, the imprint owned by Bright Eyes' Connor Oberst.

This is by no means the first time Rilo Kiley members have forayed into side projects. Lewis sang on The Postal Service album and went on to tour with them. Drummer Jason Boesel recorded with Bright Eyes. Guitarist/singer Blake Sennett recorded and toured behind a solo project of his own under the name The Elected.

Rilo Kiley are currently on a break from touring, but those of you needing your Jenny Lewis fix can see her in the new Elvis Costello video, "money to man."
