Cradle of Filth Bring a Nightmare Before Christmas

Published: 2004-11-22
Fittingly enough this holiday season the death metal fans that reside in Canada will have a chance to see one of the genre's pre-eminent forces perform live. At this very moment British quartet Cradle of Filth is touring North America, during which they will hit 31 different cities. Known for their extravagant live shows, the headlining tour will see the band stop in five Canadian cities; the first hit will be Vancouver on December 1st, and the last is Montreal on December 13th.

The Goth rockers are touring around the continent in order to support their latest full-length album 'Nymphetamine'. The record is Cradle of Filth's sixth full-length release in their almost 15 year long career. Featuring 14 new songs from the band, 'Nymphetamine' was placed on North American record shelves on September 28th, 2004.

Prior to 'Nymphetamine', Cradle of Filth released the grandiose 'Damnation and a Day' in the spring of 2003. The record takes metal music to the extremes, featuring both a 40-piece orchestra and 32-piece choir throughout its 17 tracks that add up to nearly 80 minutes of music. Before they could rope in a label to let them release such an inaccessible piece of work, Cradle of Filth had to start on a normal level - which they did. The band's debut album 'The Principle of Evil Made Flesh' (released in 1994) followed the black metal blueprint a bit more closely.

Cradle of Filth's upcoming Canadian gigs:

December 1 Vancouver, BC - Commodore Ballroom
December 3 Edmonton, AB - Shaw Conference Centre
December 4 Calgary, AB - Sun Centre
December 12 Toronto, ON - Kool Haus
December 13 Montreal, QC - Medley

Cradle Of Filth are better than any goth-metal band around the world. Midian's the best album made to date!
