Cake and The Walkmen Head Out On Tour

Published: 2004-11-19
Over the next four months Cake will perform in cities all over North America and Europe. The first leg of their world tour takes place on this lovely continent of ours, for a total of 12 dates. Kicking off yesterday (November 18th) in Los Angeles, Cake will continue touring until they hit Texas for shows on December 14th and 15th. The band will be stopping in just two Canadian cities on their jaunt across the continent, one on each side of the country: Vancouver and Montreal. Earlier this fall Cake also played a show in Toronto, Ontario.

Grabbing the supporting slot for the North American dates are indie rockers The Walkmen. The New York quartet are still supporting their sophomore album 'Bows + Arrows', which was released in the beginning of this year. Comprised of three Jonathon Fire Eater members and two Recoys boys, The Walkmen's debut 'Everyone Who Pretended To Like Me Is Gone' hit shelves on March 26th, 2002.

Finishing off their tenth year as a band, frontman John McCrea and bandmates recently launched their fifth studio album. Titled 'Pressure Chief', the 11-track record became available for purchase on October 5th. 'Pressure Chief' is the follow-up to 2001's 'Comfort Eagle' which boasted the hit song 'Short Skirt/Long Jacket'. Cake first debuted with 'Motorcade of Generosity' in the year 1994, which helped to put the alt-rock spotlight on them.

Cake's upcoming shows with The Walkmen:

November 23 Vancouver, BC - The Centre For Performing Arts
December 12 Montreal, QC - Metropolis
