While many of us still don't realize there's only a month and a half of this year left, New York band The Scissor Sisters have already got their 2005 mapped out. The New Year will bring a headlining North American tour, new album, and new DVD for the dance rock five-piece.

Kicking off on November 29th in Atlanta, Georgia, The Scissor Sisters 13 date jaunt across North America will take them well into the year 2005. The last stop on the quartet's itinerary is Lawrence, Kansas, which they will play on January 22nd. There is just one Canadian stop scheduled on The Sisters tour, which is January 17th in Toronto at The Guvernment. Tickets for the show go on sale this Thursday (November 18th) through Ticketmaster.

On January 18th in this land of Canada The Scissor Sisters very first DVD release is set to hit shelves. Included on the disc is an August performance at the Brighton Dome in England, as well as backstage footage. There will also be a documentary, featuring early footage of The Sisters as it tells their story. In addition to the live footage and documentary, all of The Scissor Sisters' videos will be included on the DVD.

Although they haven't started recording it yet, The Scissor Sisters announced that their sophomore album will be released next year. The as-yet-untitled album will be the follow-up to the band's self-titled debut, which was released in May of 2004. When the band spoke to XFM, guitarist Del Marquis said: "We already have some songs kicking around. But they're not quite well rehearsed enough to start playing live yet. The new material is similar to the sound of the first album, but a little more styled÷We're definitely looking forward to releasing another album and I'd hope that it would be out by winter 2005."

In other Scissor Sisters news, the band is set to appear on Saturday Night Live on December 11th. It's also rumoured that U2 has their sights set on The Scissor Sisters and Snow Patrol to open for them on their massive world tour next year.
