Rufus Wainwright Releases 'Want Two', Tours Canada

Published: 2004-11-15
The release of the much anticipated sequel to Rufus Wainwright's 'Want One' album is finally upon us. Featuring 12 new tracks of Wainwright's trademark operatic music, 'Want Two' is set to hit record store shelves tomorrow, November 16th. Not only will fans be able to get their hands on the newest Wainwright recording, but may even get the chance to see the crooner live.

For the 31-year-old singer has nearly finished up his European tour, and will be returning home shortly. Wainwright will play his final show on the opposite side of the Atlantic on November 16th in Rome, Italy, and will then proceed to take a few weeks rest. Once the singer/songwriter has rebuilt his energy, he will finish off the year with 4 shows in North America. Luckily for his fellow countrymen, 3 of the December performances are scheduled to take place in Canada, in Quebec and Ontario to be exact.

Technically his fourth album, 'Want Two' is actually the second half of Wainwright's third album 'Want One', which was released in late 2003. Originally intended to be released as a double-album, 'Want' was ordered to be broken into two halves by the singer's label. Described by Wainwright as "operatic", "weird", and "heavy", fans can preview both 'Want Two' and the accompanying 20-track 'Rufus Wainwright Live at the Fillmore' DVD at
