The Buttless Chaps Know It's Christmas

Published: 2004-11-10
The Buttless Chaps played with The Rheostatics when they were on their home turf in British Columbia, but now the tables have been turned around and The Rheostatics will show the Vancouver four-piece around Toronto. What this means is that The Buttless Chaps will once again join The Rheostatics for a few of their performances. More specifically The Buttless Chaps will open for The Rheostatics for two nights, November 19th and 20th, at the Horseshoe Tavern.

In addition to traveling halfway across the country, The Buttless Chaps are also preparing to record their new album. The as-yet-untitled album will be the follow-up to 'Love This Time', which was released in 2003 via Mint records. When it's all finished up, the new record will be The Chaps seventh full-length since their self-titled debut in 1998. The bonus to having the four-piece in recording mode is that fans will be able to hear new material from the band during their upcoming gigs.

As a supplement until that impending release hits stores, fans can get their hands on Mint records new Christmas compilation. The album features The Buttless Chaps along with their labelmates singing 14 songs to mark the holiday season. The second in a series, 'It's A Team Mint Xmas Vol.2' contains songs by the likes of The Smugglers, The Evaporators, Carolyn Mark, and Atomic 7, among others. While a slew of British superstars are doing 'Do They Know It's Christmas?' this year, a gang of Vancouverites led by none other than The Buttless Chaps, will give them a run for their money.
