Bleep Celebrate Sophomore Release

Published: 2004-11-10
This November, the second offering from electro-rock band Bleep will become available for purchase. To celebrate the release of 'Datenbergbau', the Toronto-based trio will play a CD Release party in their hometown. The event is happening on the last Friday of the month, November 26th at the Drake Hotel.

Not only will Bleep be playing songs from their new album, but a few of their friends will make an appearance at the CD launch as well. Wintary, another Toronto band that pushes the boundaries of rock and electronica, will be opening for Bleep, along with electronic duo Madrid, and DJ Galaxy. To get into the show you have to be over 19 and pay $5 at the door (which opens at 10pm).

Although Bleep's base is Toronto, the electro-rock trio is out there representing the entire globe. One member hails from Britain, one from Yugoslavia, and one from Canada. The mixed nationalities may be one of the reasons that Bleep chose to name their sophomore effort 'Datenbergbau', a German word that means 'data mining'. Featuring 6 new tracks from Bleep, 'Datenbergbau' is the follow-up to 2001's 'IMM 0008'. Another possible indicator of the three members' different nationalities, 'IMM 0008' was named after the forms which anyone who wants to live permanently in Canada must fill-out. The track-listing of 'Datenbergbau':

'Coils'
'Dipping Toes'
'S.I.F.'
'Anenome'
'You Do It'
'Euphoria-RMX'
'Over' (video)
'Idiot Drums (live)' (video)
