To support their most recent release, Boston's Isis has lined-up an extensive tour of the United States and Canada. The five-piece has a total of 31 performances scheduled for November and December. Kicking off tomorrow (November 10th) in Pomona, California, the tour will continue until December 18th where Isis will play their final date in Phoenix, Arizona. There are four Canadian stops on the winter tour: one each in Vancouver, Montreal, Ottawa, and Toronto.
All of the Canadian dates will see punk band These Arms Are Snakes play alongside Isis, and the three Eastern gigs will also feature the band Mare.
Released in mid-October, 'Panopticon' is Isis' latest full-length effort, and the album the five-piece is touring to promote. Although it contains just 7 tracks, the shortest songs on 'Panopticon' clocks in at 7.5 minutes, and the longest 'Altered Course' comes in at just under 10 minutes. 'Panopticon' is the follow-up to 'Oceanic', which was released by the heavy-metal band in late 2002.
Isis first debuted their ambient metal music in 1999 with a 3-song EP called 'The Red Sea'. Continuing to release feedback-riddled powercore steadily since then, Isis released their first LP 'Celestial' in the spring of 2001 after another EP called 'Mosquito Control'.
