Two of Winnipeg's best and brightest are all set to head out on tour together, as they traipse across the western half of the country. Rock'n'rollers to the core, The Harlots and Projektor have a total of 7 performances scheduled for the month of November. The two quartets will hit towns in three different provinces, with the first stop in Calgary, Alberta this Thursday (November 11th), and the last in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan nine days later on November 20th.
Creating rock with a darker side, Projektor recently released their second full-length album. Titled 'Young Hearts Fail', the 11-track was put into the world on September 28th. The follow-up to 'Red Wolf Glass' (which was released in 2001), 'Young Hearts Fail' sees the four-piece move in a new direction with their music. Fans can hear Projektor's new approach by checking out the track 'From Steel' from the new album, which is available for download at the band's site (www.projektormusic.com).
Calling themselves a band since the late '90s, The Harlots are currently gearing up to record their third studio-album. The as-yet-untitled album is expected to be ready for release in 2005, and is set to include tracks 'Magistrate', 'Tired and Twisted', and 'Connoisseur of Rain', which many of The Harlots' fans are already familiar with. The Harlots have released two LPs to date: 'Crawl Spaces' in 2003, and a self-titled debut in 1999.
