More Details on Nirvana Box-Set

Published: 2004-11-04
Probably heading towards being one of the biggest selling box-sets ever, more details have emerged surrounding Nirvana's 'With the Lights Out'. The box-set, which includes 3 CDs and 1 DVD, offers fans 81 of the band's tracks, of which a whopping 68 have never before been released. In addition to the music and footage, 'With The Lights Out' will come with a 60-page colour booklet, which includes rare photos and liner notes from Thurston Moore (of Sonic Youth), and writer Neil Strauss.

To be released on November 23rd, 'With the Lights Out' spans the entirety of Nirvana's career chronologically, from the extremely anticipated recording from the band's first-ever live performance at 1987 house party. The track which fans have wanted to get their hands on for quite some time now is a cover of Led Zeppelin's 'Heartbreaker'. The most recent material featured on the box-set is solo acoustic performances by Nirvana leader Kurt Cobain taken from 1994.

Included on the DVD portion of 'With the Lights Out' is never-before-seen footage of Nirvana in the recording studio, at rehearsals, videos, and of course performing at live shows.
