Kalan Porter Announces Album Title

After nabbing the title of the 2004 Canadian Idol a mere month and a half ago, the release of Kalan Porter's debut album is just weeks away. Released through VIK.Recordings, the record has been titled '219 Days', and will be released on November 23rd. The '219 Days' cover-art, featuring a black-and-white shot of Porter, can be seen at his official site www.kalanporter.com.

The singer's first single 'Awake in a Dream' has dominated the top spot on the singles charts for quite some time. Still going strong, Porter's song has held down the likes of Usher, The Black Eyed Peas, and Green Day, to name a few. As of yet a track-listing for '219 Days' hasn't been released, but in addition to 'Awake in a Dream' fans can expect a few songs written by Porter himself.

To promote the impending release of '219 Days', Porter is set to travel Canada from coast to coast. The singer has upcoming appearances on talk shows, as well as performances and autograph sessions at malls across the nation. So far there have been two mall appearances scheduled for Alberta, and one for Ontario, but more are likely to pop up.

My son is 7 years old. We adopted him after his mother dropped him on the pavement at one month old. He is AN OVERCOMER as far as I am concerned and you Kalan are such a rolemodel to him. I have tickets to your evening concert in Red Deer and since then he has been singing all your songs. Do you know what a difference you are making in young peoples lives?

What an incredible year of 2005! 8x platinum single "Awake In a Dream"; 2x platinum debut album "219Days"; MTV Fan Choice Award; 2 Juno nominations; all-sold-out tour (39 concerts within 2 months) and a summer tour with record-breaking turn-outs, especially at Peterborough.
