The Walkmen Play One-Off Canada Date

Published: 2004-10-29
Yesterday on October 28th, New York City band The Walkmen kicked off their fall tour of North America. The five-piece are set to hit 8 different cities on the jaunt across the continent, with 11 performances scheduled. Unlike many of the rockin' and rollin' gigs out there, all of The Walkmen's upcoming dates are all-ages affairs.

Wrapping up on November 24th in Seattle, Washington, the tour will see the band stop in just one Canadian city. The Walkmen will appear in the city of Vancouver, British Columbia on November 23rd at the Vancouver Performing Arts Centre.

The band is continuing to tour in support of their 2004 release 'Bows + Arrows'. Critically-acclaimed on both sides of the Atlantic, The Walkmen found even more success with the sophomore album than they did with their debut 'Everyone Who Pretended To Like Me Is Gone'. Three of The Walkmen's members could once count themselves as part of indie rock band Jonathan Fire Eater. While big things were expected from Jonathan Fire Eater, the band unfortunately disbanded in 1998 after only one major-label album.

The Walkmen's sole Canadian date:

November 23 Vancouver, BC - Vancouver Performing Arts Centre
