Although their stint as opening act for hard-core band Billy Talent ended mere days ago, Death From Above 1979 already have their next bout of dates lined-up. The duo was Europe bound the moment the Billy Talent tour wrapped up, playing the first date of the UK leg yesterday (October 27th) in London, England. The drum and bass team will end their time in the UK on November 2nd, and be back on North American ground for a show in New York on November 4th.
The final gig of the 26-date tour falls on December 10th, when the band is set to play London, Ontario. DFA1979 currently have seven stops scheduled in Canada, with the majority taking place in Ontario at the very end of the tour (from December 5th-December 10th). The only Canadian date not scheduled for December is the Vancouver performance, which will come on November 11th.
The year 2004 has kept the members Death From Above 1979 incredibly busy. In the summer the band embarked on a whirlwind tour of Britain, Japan, and Australia during which they played 22 gigs in just one month. Then their debut album 'You're a Woman, I'm a Machine' was released in the fall, and the pair toured extensively with Billy Talent. To top it off, Death From Above also had to undergo a name change, adding 1979 onto the end of their moniker due to a legal situation involving the record company DFA.
