Sparta Invades The North

Published: 2004-10-27
After the demise of experimental-rock band At The Drive-In, two groups were formed: Sparta and The Mars Volta. While the latter is at work on their second album, the former will be touring around the continent. Sparta's tour will start in the Southern States, with the band eventually making its way up to Canada. Three times out of 28, the Texan rockers will grind their tour bus wheels to a halt on Canadian soil.

Kicking off on November 2nd in the band's hometown of El Paso, Texas, the four-piece's tour will run until December 6th, where it will finish off in the state of California. Sparta is criss-crossing the continent in order to support their sophomore effort, which was christened 'Porcelain'. Released in the summer of '04, the 14-song album is the follow-up to 2002's 'Wiretap Scars'.

If one ventured on over to Sparta's official website (, they could watch the video to 'Breaking the Broken'. The single is the most recent lifted from the band's new album 'Porcelain'.

Sparta will perform in these Canadian cities:

November 19 Montreal, QC - Club Soda
November 20 Toronto, ON - Opera House
November 30 Vancouver, BC - Commodore Ballroom
