Hot Hot Heat Loses Member

Victoria's very own punk-funk band Hot Hot Heat have announced that one of their members has left their midst. The man that decided to opt out of the band is guitarist Dante DeCaro. The news of the departure comes as Hot Hot Heat wrap up the recording session on their upcoming sophomore effort.

It sounds as if DeCaro parted from the group on good terms, as this statement was issued on the band's web site: "Dante has decided to leave Hot Hot Heat. We respect his decision, will miss him and he will always be a friend of the band."

Although DeCaro made the decision to leave the indie rock band before the new album was even embarked on, the guitarist still co-wrote and recorded the tracks with Hot Hot Heat. That means fans may notice a change when it comes time for the four-piece to tour the as-yet-untitled album. At this point in time, the remaining members of Hot Hot Heat (vocalist/keyboardist Steve Bays, drummer Paul Hawley, and bassist Dustin Hawthorne) do not know who will fill DeCaro's shoes.

The new album from Hot Hot Heat can be expected early next year (possibly January), as can a tour. Posted on are photos of the band's many exciting adventures in Los Angeles, where they recorded their second full-length album with Dave Sardy (Jet, The Dandy Warhols).
