Whitey Houston Tour and Record Debut

Not to be confused with gymnastic vocalist Whitney Houston, Edmonton's Whitey Houston are set to bring their own vocal stylings to various venues this fall. The two-man band currently has four dates lined-up for November that will see them hit cities in two different provinces.

Not only are the two members of Whitey Houston playing their music live this fall, they will also be recording it as well. The band is preparing to record their debut full-length album, which has been a long time coming. For the album, which is titled 'Start-Stop-Start', Whitey Houston has already laid down 9 tracks, with 5 more to go.

Similar to Death From Above 1979, another Canadian act, Whitey Houston creates the music for their lyrics using just a rhythm section - drums and bass. Also similar to DFA1979, the resulting tunes are a lot more melodic than one would think.
