Vanessa Carlton Releases 'Harmonium' and Tours

Published: 2004-10-15
Ready to kick off her 17-date tour on October 21st is the girl behind the piano herself. That's right, Vanessa Carlton is preparing to lug around her baby grand just for her fans for an entire month. The tour, which begins in Minneapolis will wrap up on November 21st in Portland, Oregon.

There is just one Canadian stop scheduled on the cross-continental trek. Carlton will be in Toronto on October 26th to perform at The Mod Club.

The reason Carlton is making her way to various cities across the US and Canada is to support her newest album. The record, which is called 'Harmonium', is set to drop on November 9th. With its release, the 10-track 'Harmonium' will become Carlton's second full-length studio album. 'White Houses' was the first single lifted from the record, and can be heard on radio stations across the country.

'Harmonium' is the follow up to 2002's 'Be Not Nobody'. Released through Universal records during the midst of bubblegum pop hysteria, the album showcased eleven of Carlton's piano driven songs. Writing 10 of the songs, with one cover thrown in for good measure (The Rolling Stone's 'Paint It, Black'), 'Be Not Nobody' helped Carlton to stand out among her teen-pop peers.

The track-listing of 'Harmonium':

'White Houses'
'Who's to Say'
'San Francisco'
'Private Radio'
'Half a Week Before The Winter'
'C'est La Vie'
'She Floats'
