Velvet Revolver 'Slither' Into Canada

Published: 2004-10-12
America's Velvet Revolver successfully combine all the elements that people have come to expect from a full-on rock group - charismatic front man, uber-talented guitarist, loads of personality, and most importantly loud, head-banging music. Fans will be glad to hear then, that the four-piece is taking their perfect mix of rock-esque on the road this fall.

The band will kick off their North American tour this Saturday (October 16th) in country music's home of Nashville, Tennessee. The final date will fall in Detroit, Michigan on November 23rd after 24 performances. There are just two Canadian performances scheduled on Velvet Revolver's tour, with both taking place in mid-November.

Velvet Revolver will be touring in support of their debut album 'Contraband', which was released in June of 2004. Comprised of one part Stone Temple Pilot and three parts Guns N' Roses, Velvet Revolver has a pedigree to brag about. After a series of false starts, the band that started out as 'The Project' in 2002 would eventually become Velvet Revolver in late 2003. Of course the well documented troubles of lead singer Scott Weiland slowed down the band's progress, but as of now things appear to be going well for the hard rock band.

Velvet Revolver's Canadian stops:

November 13 Montreal, QC - Bell Centre
November 16 Toronto, ON - Air Canada Centre
