R.E.M. Tour 'Around The Sun'
On October 5th, the fifth album from celebrated alt-rock band R.E.M. will appear in music stores around the world. Titled 'Around The Sun', the record will be the trio's thirteenth proper album. The first single lifted from the album is called 'Leaving New York' and is being played at radio stations across the country.

To support the new release, the members of R.E.M. are embarking on a two month tour of North America. The Athens, Georgia band has 29 gigs lined-up, with 8 of them falling north of the Canada/USA border. Starting on October 13th in Los Angeles, R.E.M. will be on the road until November 27th when they play their final gig in Denver, Colorado.
For the first four Canadian dates the opener for the band will be singer/songwriter Joseph Arthur, who is supporting his new album 'Out Shadows Will Remain' (released on September 28th, 2004). The final four dates in Canada will see Charlie Mars perform as the warm-up act. The singer is out promoting his 2004 self-titled record.
