It's been 40 years since legendary crooner Nat King Cole died. To commemorate the four decades the world has been without the singer, Capitol/EMI is set to release both a CD in DVD in his honour. The CD will compile Cole's greatest hits, while the DVD will contain a documentary about the performer. The 28-track 'The World of Nat King Cole' won't be set to hit shelves until January 25th 2005.
Not content to release just one version of 'The World of Nat King Cole', the record companies will tailor the album to each region of the world. The success of songs he had in different countries, and even tracks he sang in different languages will appear on the various world versions of 'The World of Nat King Cole'.
The songs included on the compilation will even span past the singer's 1965 death from complications with lung cancer. In the nineties Natalie Cole recorded a duet with her father through the use of modern technology; the father/daughter duet version of 'Unforgettable' appears on 'The World of Nat King Cole'.
