Picking up their instruments and travelling across the continent playing their music for legions of faithful fans is legendary punk outfit The Misfits. With a total of 24 North American performances scheduled for this fall, the re-formed band will hit three Canadian cities. The tour is set to kick off on October 9th in Massachusetts, finishing up in Connecticut on November 14th.
The last album that the new version of The Misfits released was called 'Project 1950', put on shelves in 2003. In addition to original Misfits member Jerry Only, the line-up that created 'Project 1950' included Marky Ramone and Dez Cadena (formerly of Black Flag). The songs on the album are covers of classic rock songs – including 'Great Balls of Fire' and 'This Magic Moment' – given a Misfits makeover.
Together since 1977, the Misfits have a long history. Originally a four-piece, the punk band played some of their first shows at the legendary CBGB's in New York. Perhaps more famous to today's generation for their unmistakable skull trademark, the Misfits actually did have a recording career. Their first record was a four song EP called 'Bullet' (released 1978), and the band continued releasing material until the original line-up disbanded in late 1983. The reformed Misfits started up again, with Jerry Only as their leader, in the mid-nineties.
The Misfits' upcoming Canadian dates:

November 10 Toronto, ON – The Reverb
November 11 Montreal, QC – Rainbow
