Jorane Seeks International Success

Published: 2004-09-22
Quebec cellist Jorane has co-written her first English-language album 'The You and the Now' teaming up with Simon Wilcox, Lisa Germano and Shira Myrow. The record was originally released in France as a 2-disc, but has been cut down to 1-disc for its other releases. The new version of 'The You and the Now' is set to hit Canadian shelves next week on September 28th.

To celebrate the launch of 'The You and the Now', Jorane will be playing a release party in Montreal on September 30th at La Tulipe. The classical singer also has one date coming up in Toronto on October 13th, though a venue has not yet been confirmed. Late October and early November will see Jorane play a series of dates in France, where she also has quite a large fan base.

After the album is put on shelves in her native Canada, 'The You and the Now' will be released in Germany and Austria on October 4th. Early 2005 will see Jorane's album released in the USA, Japan, and the United Kingdom.

Although this will be Jorane's first release in the United Kingdom, she's already made a name for herself back home. Her first album, called 'Vent Fou' (released 1999), had her nominated for Best New Solo Artist at the Junos.
