Cake Release Fifth Album and Plan Tour

Published: 2004-09-15
'Pressure Chief' is the name of the newest album to become a part of the Cake catalogue. The release date for the band's fifth full-length record is set for October 5th. 'Pressure Chief' contains 11 new tracks, which, judging from the title and cover-art, could be more political than Cake's previous songs.

To support the upcoming 'Pressure Chief', Cake has scheduled a tour of both North America and Europe. With 20 dates falling all over the globe in the months of October and November, it's hard to blame the band for having just one Canadian performance. That gig will be taking place in Toronto on October 19th at Massey Hall.

Not only is Cake releasing a new album this year, but 2004 marks a decade since the band's debut with 'Motorcade of Generosity'. The song that the band may be best known for is the extremely popular single 'Short Skirt/Long Jacket', which was taken from the 2001 album 'Comfort Eagle'. The band enjoyed mainstream success with the track, helped by the excellent music video.

The track-listing of 'Pressure Chief':

'No Phone'
'Take It All Away'
'Carbon Monoxide'
'The Guitar Man'
'End of the Movie'
'Palm of Your Hand'
'Tougher Than It Is'
