U2 Reveal New Album Title and Single

Published: 2004-09-15
As U2 get closer to releasing their next studio-album the communal anticipation grows greatly with each passing day. One of the few bands of today that can be called a true international success, a new record from U2 is no small event. The band recently let the world know the title of their eleventh full-length – 'How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb'.

U2 has been recording material for their new album for the past two years, working with producer Steve Lillywhite. Lillywhite is the man who also worked on the band's first three albums – 'Boy', 'October', and 'War'. Although a full track-listing for 'How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb' isn't yet available, some of the song titles include: 'Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own', 'Yahweh', 'Crumbs From Your Table', 'A Man And A Woman' and 'City of Blinding Lights'.

'How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb' is set for release on November 23rd, with the first single 'Vertigo' hitting radio stations on November 8th.

The last album that U2 released was 2000's 'All That You Can't Leave Behind'. Following the release of the record, the four-piece went on an extensive world tour, with quite a few stops in Canada. It's assumed that the band will conduct a similar tour to promote 'How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb' sometime in 2005.

In other U2 news, guitarist The Edge is responsible for writing the theme song for 'The Batman', an animated series on the WB. Almost ten years ago U2 also provided another theme song – 'Hold Me Kiss Me Thrill Me Kill Me' for the major motion-picture 'Batman Forever'.
