The Donnas Get 'The Gold Medal'

Published: 2004-09-10
All female rock band the Donnas are ready to release a brand new album. The four-piece has titled the record 'The Gold Medal' and it's set for release on October 26th. The first single lifted from 'The Gold Medal' is reported to be called 'Fall Behind Me'.

The last album that the quartet released was called 'Spend The Night', put on shelves in October of 2002. In addition to being the Donnas mainstream breakthrough, the record was also the girls' first major label release. That major label happened to be Atlantic records, home to Bjork and the Stills. 'The Gold Medal' is also being released through Atlantic.

Before the major label stepped in to help out the Donnas, the band released no less than four albums on independent label Lookout. The group released their debut 'American Teenage Rock'n'Roll Machine' in 1998 when they were but fresh faced youths straight out of high school. The last album they released with Lookout records was 2001's 'The Donnas Turn 21'.

The members of the Donnas will be touring this November with Detroit band the Von Bondies. Unfortunately there are no Canadian dates scheduled.
