Anita Baker Returns To Music

Published: 2004-09-09
Making a comeback to the world of music is Ohio's Anita Baker. The songstress hasn't released an album since 1994, but now ten years later, with kids grown up, Baker is ready to get back in the business. Baker's new album 'My Everything' was released this week by Blue Note records, the company that also houses break-out star Norah Jones.

'My Everything' contains ten jazzy tunes – seven of which Baker co-wrote. The first single lifted from the new album 'You're My Everything' was one of those tracks that Baker helped to create. Even though 'My Everything' is seeing a 2004 release, fans will have to wait a bit longer for a tour from Ms. Baker. The singer wants to wait until summer 2005 to begin promoting the album.

Anita Baker may best be known for the song 'Sweet Love' which was featured on her sophomore album titled 'Rapture'. 'Sweet Love' was one of three songs co-written by Baker on the 1986 record, showcasing her ability to fill nearly an entire album with her own songs eighteen years later.

The track-listing of 'My Everything':

'You're My Everything'
'How Could You'
'In My Heart'
'How Does It Feel'
'Like You Used To Do'
'Close Your Eyes'
'You're My Everything Revisited'
'I Can't Sleep'
'Men in My Life'
