Herald Nix's First Album in 7 Years

Published: 2004-09-08
Hailing from Vancouver, Herald Nix is a veteran of the Canadian music scene. Even so, it's been quite a while since he's released an album, but that's all about to change. It's been a long wait for Nix's fans, but the roots singer has finally got another record for the world to hear.

Nix's newest effort called 'What A World' is set to be released on September 28th. The album will be the singer/songwriter's first record in seven long years. Adding to Nix's instrumental skills are other Americana artists like Ronnie Hayward and Ike Eidness.

'What A World' should sound a lot different than most albums being released today. The songs featured on the album were recorded live, straight to tape, with no studio fiddling done afterwards. Nix is among a rare breed of musicians that are brave enough to attempt this sort of recording honesty that also includes the likes of Devendra Banhart and Iron & Wine.

To listen to a sample song off of 'What A World', head on over to Northern Eclectic records at www.northern-electric.ca. The Nix track featured on the site is 'Down Home Girl'.
