The Ten Tenors' Are 'Larger Than Life'

Published: 2004-08-31
Out to prove that they can do anything that their mother country can and with more fun, 10 Brisbane, Australia university students formed Ten Tenors in 1995. The tenors use their classical training - they were studying for opera - but they also have fun in typical Ausie fashion singing pop tunes and even adding dance steps to the songs.

The Ten Tenors have taken the rest of the world by storm and now they are taking on North America. The Ten Tenors will be performing at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto on October 31, 2004.

But before that the Ten Tenors will release their album "Larger Than Life" on September 21. "Larger Than Life" exhibits the tenor's diversity with a Verdi aria, a tango, a classic Queen's song, and three original songs written by group members. The Ten Tenors even give listeners a taste of Australia with a song that includes the Aboriginal instrument the didgeridoo.

"Larger Than Life" includes a bonus DVD that shows the tenors at a live performance singing everything from classical tunes to pop songs.
