For Canadian Idol fans who cannot get enough of the hit TV show a special program featuring 10 of the most unforgettable performers from the original auditions of season two will get a second chance to make an impression. The show titled "The Best and the Worst of Canadian Idol" will pair six of the competitors in duets while the remaining three join together to perform "A Whole New World". The final competitor will perform a special dance number. Viewers will once again be able to vote on their favourite performance. Kicking off the show will be Jon Dore and Ben Mulroney clad in top hat and tails for a musical number of their own.
Unlike other Idol shows where viewers call in their votes and have only two hours to do so, this time viewers will vote online at www.idol.ctv.ca. Voting begins at 10pm after the show and ends at 4pm on August 31.
The Best and the Worst of Canadian Idol will air at 9pm on Monday August 30.
In other Idol news "Superstar 2" the Arab world's version of Canadian Idol has gotten down to the final two contestants. Libyan singer Eyman Al-Atar and Ammar Hassan a Palestinian from the West Bank will be the final two to compete. The 26 year old music school graduate Hassan is seen as a hope for the people of Palestine in their struggle against Israeli occupation of the lands they claim.
